Why photographs are so important

As a photographer, I know how important images are for people to be able to capture certain memories, and it is my mission to share this knowledge with as many people as possible. Firstly, one of the main functions of a photograph is to capture the atmosphere of a moment or memory that is special in some way. There is something to be said about gazing at an image and having it evoke memories and emotions in you, feelings that had been fading with time. With a photograph, you will never forget something that you want to remember, and you will always be able to refresh it in you memory. Continue reading

Portfolio of portraits

I was asked recently if I had a portfolio of my portrait and people photography. I knew I had not compiled such a collection in a while so I was going to have to do it soon. So I took the time to go through my images and attempt to grab what I think are some my best images of people. They may not be the most popular and the most beautiful or anything like that. What I was actually looking for was the images that moved people the most. You know, they have had some kind of emotional connection with people either the person being photographed or people who have viewed the images. Continue reading

Fashion Photographers MN – Diana Giebler Session

Recent Fashion Photo session – Last week the phone rang and I heard a young woman’s voice on the other end. She says hi my name is Diana and you know my father. It turns out I worked with him years ago in a prior life and I remember clearly the warmth and happiness that he brought to my days. He was a constant source for smiles and I remember those days fondly. Continue reading

Graffiti Graveyard Duluth MN

Have you ever heard of the concept Graffiti Graveyard? World Encounter – A Tapestry of Tanzania

I do not know about you, but I have always had an interest or maybe even a passion to be involved with two special types of aide organizations. The first one is the type of agency that brings clean water to small desperate communities throughout the world and the second is the type of organization or ministry that provides micro loans to tiny entrepreneurs around the world. Well World Encounter http://worldencounter.org/ is this second type of organization and I was contacted by my great friend Stephanie Gates to see if I would be the photographer for their fundraising event. I said yes in a heartbeat, even before I check my schedule. This whimsical scheduling methodology luckily even worked out for me this time so I was indeed able to go. Continue reading

Canvas Prints

If you have never tried printing huge canvas prints, now just might be the time.

I was contacted by the industries Brendan at Easy Canvas Prints to see if I would do a review on their canvas prints. I immediately agreed because I have never printed any of my images large on canvas and it was high time that I got it done. So I jumped at the chance to create a canvas print.

Easy Canvas Prints (http://www.easycanvasprints.com/) offers high quality, gallery-ready prints at an affordable price. I was a bit overwhelmed with the possibilities that could be created. But not only that, Easy Canvas Prints also offers an extensive idea gallery (http://www.easycanvasprints.com/idea-gallery/) – a wedding picture, a beach picture from our recent trip to North Carolina, a picture of the pups or a nice family photo. The possibilities are endless. I knew I wanted to keep my canvas landscape related or something to do with fine art. I knew just the image, the pier shot for North Carolina!! Most excellent. The Beauty of North Carolina Beaches

The Beauty of North Carolina Beaches

I love the beach, it’s plain and simple. I do not think I have ever seen an ugly one. Ok, one that is polluted or something is less than attractive but even one like that still has that rugged allure to it. So now you know I love the beach. Continue reading

U2 Minneapolis 2011 – The 360 Tour

U2 Minneapolis 2011 – The 360 Tour

This may have been the concert of a life time.
There is a reason why U2 has experienced such huge success and career longevity in this crazy music industry when many bands can’t sell any albums (ok cds, dvds or mp3s) and most bands cannot fill up a giant venue. That reason is showmanship and respect for the audience. U2 puts on a show that will blow your mind, and probably your ears also (my ears are still ringing). Continue reading
