How to create a Email Submit or Subscribe box on WordPress?
How to create a Email Submit or Subscribe box on Wordpress?
So I was doing some SEO work on my blog and the tools that test your site for SEO-niceness look for a “subscribe to site” capability. On a previous blog that was very easy to do and frankly I was a little surprised that WP does not currently have that capability.
So off I went searching for answers. I quickly realized that it was not automatic and it was going to require a little code. Not to worry, it turns out there is a solution that is relatively easy.

Landmark Center St Paul Winter Carnival 2011
The Landmark Center is one of the most recognizable buildings in Minnesota not to mention St Paul, Minnesota. The building has a great history and it is still being used in many interesting ways.
St. Paul’s historic Landmark Center, completed in 1902, originally served as the United States Post Office, Court House, and Custom House for the state of Minnesota. It was designed by Willoughby J. Edbrooke, who served as Supervising Architect of the U.S. Treasury Department in 1891-92. Edbrooke designed a body of public architecture, much of which, like this structure, was completed after his death in 1896. Landmark Center stands in beautiful Rice Park, now housing an arts and culture center for St. Paul.

St Paul Winter Carnival Ice Sculpture
The St Paul Winter Carnival ( www.winter-carnival.com/ ) is an annual event showcasing life in Minnesota and the hearty individuals that live here. It is a great way to get out and enjoy the fresh air and stay sane in the deep Minnesota winters. The ice sculpture event is the event that got me out shooting this particular evening and while I was out I decide to capture the great lights lighting up the night in St. Paul.
This is some of the amazing ice sculpture work. The artistry is amazing.
I love this town!!!

Target Field Twins Stadium Memories of Summer
Take me out to the ball game…
This shot was captured at the Minnesota Twins stadium known as Target Field in Minneapolis Minnesota. This was a great win for Matt Fox’s professional Baseball debut.
I had great fun with the boys and I was able to witness this wonderful sunset.
As Tim would say, “this is quality of life my boys, quality of life.” Thanks Tim and Pat.

Photo of the Day: Guthrie Theater
The Guthrie Theater is a Tony Award winning center for theater performance, production, education, and professional training in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is the result of the desire of Sir Tyrone Guthrie, Oliver Rea, and Peter Zeisler to create a resident acting company that would produce and perform the classics in an atmosphere removed from the commercial pressures of Broadway.
The Guthrie Theater has performed in two main-stage facilities. The first building was designed by architect Ralph Rapson and included a 1,441-seat thrust stage designed by Tanya Moiseiwitsch, which was active from 1963-2006. After closing its 2005-2006 season, the theater moved to its current facility designed by French architect Jean Nouvel.

USS Intrepid New York City
USS Intrepid : New York City
Bright and early on a warm summer Saturday morning we ventured out to first figure out how to use the subway but then secondly to get to Lower Manhattan past the financial district so that we could catch the first ferry to the Stature of Liberty and Ellis Island. So the question in my mind was how you capture these iconic places in a little more unique and interesting way while at the same time capturing the essence of their significance to both America and the world. I hope these images accomplish that feat.
As you are on the boat to Ellis Island and the Stature of Liberty you get to see this beauty in harbor, The USS Intrepid. This ship has a great history. You could spend a day just exploring this incredible machine.

Rush Creek Golf Course : Golden Sunset
I am shooting a project for the townplanner guys and they wanted me to photography Rush Creek Golf Course for next years calendar. It turns out Rush Creek is the last place I had ever golfed because I gave the sport up in frustration years ago, so there was a certain sense of nestagia that I had to for the place. The course is certainly gorgeous and I ended up with some great sunrise and sunset images from this early spring outing.

Mickey’s Diner in Lights St Paul Minnesota
Mickey’s Diner is a 50′ x 10′ classic Art Deco diner car restaurant in Saint Paul, Minnesota. It was prefabricated in New Jersey by the Jerry O’Mahony Diner Company of Elizabeth, New Jersey, in 1937 serial # 1067, shipped to Saint Paul by rail, and installed downtown just before World War II. It looks much like it did then and is still open 24 hours a day (and according to its employees, non-stop since it started). It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983 as the only building of its kind in Minnesota. It is shown in several Hollywood movies, including The Mighty Ducks, Jingle All the Way, and A Prairie Home Companion, where it is featured prominently in the opening and closing scenes.
