My Son’s Band

My oldest son came home very excited the other day.  He has gotten himself in with a few guys that have formed a garage band.  They have written four or five songs and now they have recorded their first one.

There are no lyrics yet but the music itself is upbeat and catchy.  My son is the drummer.

Take a listen here… Catch Me Crazy (This will download the mp3 file to your pc).

Not bad if I do say so myself, but of course I am biased.  Enjoy!

About waynem

As a Minnesota based photographer and artist I have been greatly influenced by the Upper Midwest. I focus my skills and energies on portraits, landscapes, cityscapes, architectural and fine art work. My best work comes from images first painted in my mind. I mull over a prospective image for weeks or months, seeing it from different angles and perspectives, then finally deciding what to capture. The result is images that deeply touch people's emotions and powerfully evoke memories and dreams. My images are used commercially by companies and organizations ranging from Financial Services firms, mom and pop Ice Cream shops and The Basilica of St Mary to communicate their shared vision and values. Book and magazine publishers have featured my images on their covers. My photographs also grace and enhance the decor of many fine homes.

The instrumental sounds awesome. It will be interesting to learn what the lyrics will be. The group sounds good together. The accompanying artwork, however, left me feeling drawn down into the depths of abyss or doom with the colors that turned to gray and the darkened jagged circle at the middle ending with no movement left me feeling ready to explode. I kept expecting color to burst forth. (RENEWAL) It never happened. It remained dark gray.
What do the guys have to say about the title, the pending lyics and underlying message of the graphics?
Christian artists, such as Thomas Kinkade, use yellow to depict The Light. The dark gray and action ceasing felt like death.
This band has great potential. Companion them so their art will bring out the best in themselves and others.

I’m downloading still…sloooow comp. My sons are trying to live the dream too. I probably won’t share any of their stuff since it is quite dark, and i’m not all that proud of it. Anywho, hope the best for your guy. Do they have a name yet?

    Hey Wayne,
I loved your son’s bands’s music. I didn’t see the graphics that the poster above mentioned so I don’t know if it would have had a different affect on me. As I listened I could almost hear some lyrics forming…uplifting, positive, fun maybe about young love ??? Bottom line: they are talented and you have every right to be proud. Tell your son to watch out for the ladies, females tend to LOVE drummers 🙂

That is really interesting about the art GM. Is that just generic graphics that your player tool comes up with? Not sure I will have to check into it.
I know the band is not Christian per say. My son connected with these kids at school to broaden his horizons.
He plays at church also but never gets enough time there or variety.
This also allows him to be an influence on others.
    Thanks guys.
