Having your daughter get engaged is of course outrageously exciting. You start having all these grand ideas of the future, you start making plans for the wedding and then you start thinking, how in the world are we going to make all of this happen?

Well recently, we actually had the opportunity to start making some of it happened. We went out for an engagement photo session with Nicole and David. What a blast that was!

You see, David and Nicole are both creative people. They’re both in the music world and they both have great ideas of what’s interesting and unique and what shows their personalities the best.

They had great ideas of where they wanted to have a session, what they wanted to wear and what they wanted the whole thing to feel like.

So we made some plans to get out to a local park on a fall afternoon. It turned out that the weather was totally fantastic on that particular afternoon. The leaves of the trees had started turning their glorious autumn colors and there was a slight overcast to keep the light from being too harsh.

I looked through some example portraits on pinterest to see what would fit them the best and of course Nicole had her Pinterest collection of images also. So we had some great inspiration and we just going let our creativity go to work to lead us in the proper direction from there.

One of the best things of the outing was the fact that this couple is so comfortable with each other. They’re able to be serious, they’re able to be joyful and they’re able to pose and give each other ideas and directions on how they should stand to make the image the best.

We did a couple images in some tall grass. We did other images out in the woods. We shot some other images by a lake. Frankly we hit every setting we could imagine in the time we had available to us.

The results were so gratifying, so many of them turned out of fantastically well. I guess both the couple and you the audience will have to be the final judge and jury of how everything turned out. As for me, I was just so happy that I was asked to be a part of this event.
