Iraq Purple Finger Campaign

Iraq Purple Finger Campaign
Originally uploaded by !!WaynePhotoGuy.

Last week on the Bill Bennett show.  Bill and the guys were consider how to show support for the upcoming Iraqi elections.  They came up with the idea of the purple finger campaign.  If you recall from the first Iraqi elections, the way the people were marked to indicate that they had voted was by marking their right index finger with purple.  Hence the purple finger campaign.

The campaign is already in motion.  The way I have chosen to support the purple finger campaign is to take pictures of purple fingers and post them to my flickr account.   You can find those pictures here.

I have also created a group in flickr for others to post their pictures of purple fingers.  You can find the Purple finger campaign group here.

Let’s support freedom loving Iraqis!

About waynem

As a Minnesota based photographer and artist I have been greatly influenced by the Upper Midwest. I focus my skills and energies on portraits, landscapes, cityscapes, architectural and fine art work. My best work comes from images first painted in my mind. I mull over a prospective image for weeks or months, seeing it from different angles and perspectives, then finally deciding what to capture. The result is images that deeply touch people's emotions and powerfully evoke memories and dreams. My images are used commercially by companies and organizations ranging from Financial Services firms, mom and pop Ice Cream shops and The Basilica of St Mary to communicate their shared vision and values. Book and magazine publishers have featured my images on their covers. My photographs also grace and enhance the decor of many fine homes.

  1. Q-n-A –
This is just a quick and simple little thing for folks to do tomorrow – a personal statement for this historic election in Iraq. WSe should not only do this to show support for the Iraqis, but also our own troops who have sacrificed so much to make this happen.
    Celebrate Purple Finger Day!
