Catholic Church no longer swears by truth of the Bible – World – Times Online

The Catholic Church is getting itself into hot water, in my humble opinion.

THE hierarchy of the Roman Catholic Church has published a teaching document instructing the faithful that some parts of the Bible are not actually true.

The Catholic bishops of England, Wales and Scotland are warning their five million worshippers, as well as any others drawn to the study of scripture, that they should not expect “total accuracy” from the Bible.

To say the Bible is not true is treading on very thin ice.  It is one thing to say you need to take the Bible as it was intended in the context that it was written in, but to imply that it is not true, WOW!

I will give them the point that not all truth is documented in scripture but to say that what is in scripture is not true is an entirely different matter.  Let me give you an example, My name is Wayne.  That is true, but you will not find that in sripture anywhere.  Or Acceleration due to gravity is 3.14 meter per second squared.  That is a scientific truth that you do not find in scripture.  But to imply that the creation account taken in the way that it was intended is not true, That is the way to throw out any and all truth of scripture.  That is the way you become a "pick and chose" Christian.

    Ah, the truth is a Choice between God’s truth and humanistic opinion based predominately on human ignorance and blindness. The true colors of Rome rear their flagrant
    traditional appetite of egotism!
    Lucifer failed a similar egoistic IQ Test. Moses failed a similar test of the ego-flesh.
    “…they both fall in the ditch.”
    Any takers? Regrettably, yes.
    TRADITION!!!!!!

    I would not be quite so hard on tradition. There is a rich beauty in tradition that the evangelical world has dumped dispite it’s truth and value. The problem is when tradition contraticts scripture. In those cases you have to side with scripture.

    i can’t believe it’s come to the point where the church is turning it’s back on God’s word.
    without God’s word what are we and who are we? by saying God’s word isn’t true they are rendering their whole religion meaningless. how can they not see that? they’ve taken a step too far!
