Runnin’ with the govna’

The Eagan MN High School cross-country team started regular practices for the fall season this past Monday.  Yes I know not to many of you will get to excited about that but there is some exciting news.  On Tuesday morning they were surprised by a special guest runner.  Governor Tim Pawlenty showed up to run with the team.

If you are a regular reader of my blog you may have discerned that we list towards the right and it might be a good assumption that we supported Pawlenty in his run for governor.  You may also discern that we talk a lot of politics at home.  Well, you would be right on all accounts.  So our kids are pretty attuned to what is happening in the political world and they know many of the political movers and shakers.

Our oldest son is on this cross country team and with him being a junior political wonk he was quite excited to have the opportunity to meet and run with the governor.  This is certainly an opportunity that not everyone would be given.

I understand pictures will be available from the event.  I guess if you have to try to make cross-country exciting, this is a good way to do it.  Thanks for the time governor.

Update 9/9/2005:  Here are some of the promised pictures.

Gov1

This is MN Gov. Tim Pawlenty with coach King and some kids stretching for the race.

About waynem

As a Minnesota based photographer and artist I have been greatly influenced by the Upper Midwest. I focus my skills and energies on portraits, landscapes, cityscapes, architectural and fine art work. My best work comes from images first painted in my mind. I mull over a prospective image for weeks or months, seeing it from different angles and perspectives, then finally deciding what to capture. The result is images that deeply touch people's emotions and powerfully evoke memories and dreams. My images are used commercially by companies and organizations ranging from Financial Services firms, mom and pop Ice Cream shops and The Basilica of St Mary to communicate their shared vision and values. Book and magazine publishers have featured my images on their covers. My photographs also grace and enhance the decor of many fine homes.
