Art really does matter

Crystal at a slip of the pen is an artist in more than one way.  In a recent post she said…

Anyone who knows anything about me knows I have a favorite Christian artist, and some time ago I stumbled upon a book she compiled with another person, and have drooled longingly over them ever since.

Well, thanks be to my mother, I am now the proud owner of both those books, though I don’t have them yet, I will soon. And I will display them proudly, because no other artist has ever depicted in paints the Christ I know as she does. Her artwork often leaves tears in my eyes, and a loving ache in my soul and a small feeling of nostalgia, but it’s all good, because it’s Him, as I know him, and though he may not be here, he at least, will be amongst the pages of the books that will lay on my coffee table.

I love the way she loves art but I was also exposed to her photography!  It took my breath away!  Fantastic.  It is always a breath of fresh air when you come across someone that appreciates beauty.

Thank you Crystal

About waynem

As a Minnesota based photographer and artist I have been greatly influenced by the Upper Midwest. I focus my skills and energies on portraits, landscapes, cityscapes, architectural and fine art work. My best work comes from images first painted in my mind. I mull over a prospective image for weeks or months, seeing it from different angles and perspectives, then finally deciding what to capture. The result is images that deeply touch people's emotions and powerfully evoke memories and dreams. My images are used commercially by companies and organizations ranging from Financial Services firms, mom and pop Ice Cream shops and The Basilica of St Mary to communicate their shared vision and values. Book and magazine publishers have featured my images on their covers. My photographs also grace and enhance the decor of many fine homes.
