Keep your childish point of view!

Kids….
When I look at a patch of dandelions, I see a bunch of weeds that are going to take over my yard. My kids see flowers for Mom and blowing white fluff, you can wish on.

When I look at a homeless person and he smiles at me, I see a smelly, dirty person who probably wants money and I look away. My kids see someone smiling at them and they smile back.

When I hear music I love, I know I can’t carry a tune and don’t have much rhythm so I sit self consciously and listen. My kids feel the beat and move to it. They sing out the words. If they don’t know them, they make up their own.

When I feel wind on my face, I brace myself against it. I feel it messing up my hair and pulling me back when I walk. My kids close their eyes, spread their arms and fly with it, until they fall to the ground laughing.

When I pray I say thee and thou and grant me this, give me that. My kids say, "Hi God!!! Thanks for my toys and my friends.
Please keep the bad dreams away tonight. Sorry, I don’t want to go to Heaven yet. I would miss my Mommy and Daddy."

When I see a mud puddle I step around it. I see muddy shoes and clothes and dirty carpets. My kids sit in it. They see dams to build, rivers to cross and worms to play with.

Sometimes, I wonder if we are given kids to teach… or to learn from?
No wonder Jesus loves the little children!!

About waynem

As a Minnesota based photographer and artist I have been greatly influenced by the Upper Midwest. I focus my skills and energies on portraits, landscapes, cityscapes, architectural and fine art work. My best work comes from images first painted in my mind. I mull over a prospective image for weeks or months, seeing it from different angles and perspectives, then finally deciding what to capture. The result is images that deeply touch people's emotions and powerfully evoke memories and dreams. My images are used commercially by companies and organizations ranging from Financial Services firms, mom and pop Ice Cream shops and The Basilica of St Mary to communicate their shared vision and values. Book and magazine publishers have featured my images on their covers. My photographs also grace and enhance the decor of many fine homes.

I absolutely Love this. I would love to print this on some fancy linen paper and hang it on the wall. If you have a copy to email I would appreciate it. If not I will copy and paste to WP. It is beautiful, and I need to remember these things sometimes. The mudpuddle part I laughed out loud, as my 10 yr old dau. and my 6 yr old gr,son recently did just that. They were covered head to toe in mud, pretty funny and aggravating too…I know my oldest dau. would love this as well.
Thanx for the compliment and the BR…If you get a chance I have a second blog which is strictly prolife ( which is how found yours, thru PL-BLOGS). It is linked above. TTYL..KC
