The Season of Transition

Oaktree_1 Winter in Minnesota will not leave without a fight.  It tries to maintain it’s influence.  "Old Man Winter" wants it to be winter all year long.  But the seasons must change and time must move on.

This time of year can be full of conflicts for me.  You see, I was born and raised for the first part of my life in Los Angles California.  I love the heat of summer and hints of spring make me long for the rays of the summer sun.

But, the last snows of winter are beautiful.  They are heavy and wet and the fresh snow sticks to the branches of the trees.  We get a winter wonderland view and it makes me think of the early scenes from the movie "It’s a Wonderful Life".

So this time of year gives me that love hate feeling. Thank you for the beauty Lord! Thank you for the longing in my heart for the new seasons.

About waynem

As a Minnesota based photographer and artist I have been greatly influenced by the Upper Midwest. I focus my skills and energies on portraits, landscapes, cityscapes, architectural and fine art work. My best work comes from images first painted in my mind. I mull over a prospective image for weeks or months, seeing it from different angles and perspectives, then finally deciding what to capture. The result is images that deeply touch people's emotions and powerfully evoke memories and dreams. My images are used commercially by companies and organizations ranging from Financial Services firms, mom and pop Ice Cream shops and The Basilica of St Mary to communicate their shared vision and values. Book and magazine publishers have featured my images on their covers. My photographs also grace and enhance the decor of many fine homes.
