I am hearing just great things about the movie, "Because of Winn-Dixie". If you are looking for great family entertainment, go. We will be trying our darndest to go this weekend.

Because of Winn-Dixie Receives PTC's Seal of Approval!
The Parents Television Council is proud to welcome the newest recipient of the PTC's Seal of Approval! Because of Winn-Dixie is a delightful film for the entire family that faithfully follows the book by Kate Di Camillo. Just as the film's tagline suggests, "Discover what happens when you go looking for a miracle and a miracle comes looking for you."
The film has a warm and encouraging message about love. Love of animals, friends and family. It demonstrates tolerance as the key to truly being able to get close to one another. That holding onto preconceived ideas will only widen the gap between us. But by making the effort to drop our own self-made barriers, we allow others to feel comfortable enough to drop their barriers. This allows us to get close and find that we have things in common and that even our differences can be a bond.
Because of Winn-Dixie is a film for the entire family...a film that parents, children, grandparents and grandchildren can all share, enjoy and identify with. Its lessons are simple and yet profound. As actress Cicely Tyson summed it up, "I think it's called 'the golden rule.' And that's the most important thing to know."
