So, what are the issues here?
There is sector of the population that sees homosexual relationships as perfectly normal and healthy, and equal in value to a family being raised by a loving mom and dad. These people want to show these relations in a positive light to the youngest of our children. There is another sector that strongly disagrees with this.
Who is to decide this issue?
Well US Department of Education DOE should not be deciding to fund at tax payer expense a positive view of a life style choice that is offensive to a large portion of the population, and should certainly not be funding indoctrination.
Frankly I don’t think there should even be a DOE but that is a different issue for a different time.
This issue is an adult issue that should be discussed between adults. If the issue were so contentious why would anyone in their right mind take the issue directly to the children? These tactics are harkening back to the tactics espoused by the communist manifesto of 1848.
******************************************************************* Do you charge us with wanting to stop the exploitation of children by their parents? To this crime we plead guilty.
But, you say, we destroy the most hallowed of relations, when we replace home education by social.
And your education! Is not that also social, and determined by the social conditions under which you educate, by the intervention direct or indirect, of society, by means of schools, etc.? The Communists have not intended the intervention of society in education; they do but seek to alter the character of that intervention, and to rescue education from the influence of the ruling class. *******************************************************************
We as a community need to come together and discuss and decide these issues. But, the guide to our decisions should be based on “whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable; not, whatever feels good, whatever frees me to do whatever I want, whatever debases me etc”. I think for the most part, these good things can be agreed upon. Maybe I am naive here.
There are all kinds of other behaviors that some sectors of our population see as normal but in the eyes of God would be considered wicked. These people are trying to make society accept these behaviors. Would we consider a positive presentation of bestiality, polygamy, man boy love? Granted, these are not looked upon positively buy a large section of our society yet, but they are coming. We must stand against these actions.
When you get away from a standard of truth that is higher than man’s wisdom you run into all kinds of problems and difficult issues. If we run away from the Judeo Christian roots of this country and stop looking to Scripture as our guide to truth we are left with only human opinion.
We are indeed called to love one another, But Jesus also told us “I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves”. We are to be discerning.
So, what is the big deal about Buster? Buster is just another assault on traditional values based on the truths of Scripture. Therefore, it is just another opportunity for Christians to show our light from the “city on a hill” or another opportunity to tell the good news of what Christ did for a fallen world. Go and be salt and light!
